Founded in 2000, Shaner Life Safety is a small, woman-owned business located in Salida, Colorado (previously in Frisco, CO). The company specializes in fire protection engineering services. Shaner Life Safety has worked with a variety of clients including Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Building Owners, Corporations and Property Developers. Shaner Life Safety is committed to providing superior design and consulting services for our customers, to ensure effective life safety and fire protection systems are achieved. Shaner Life Safety has the ability to provide full fire protection engineering services to clients. We are skilled in the development of fire protection specifications, system design (including fire alarm, fire suppression and smoke control), and system coordination.

Deborah Shaner, P.E
Deborah Shaner is the owner of Shaner Life Safety. She holds a BS in Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and a MS in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland. Ms. Shaner is registered as a Fire Protection Engineer in Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada, New Mexico, Nebraska and Utah. As a consultant, Ms. Shaner has participated in a wide range of projects including schools, residences, casinos, military bases, high rise buildings, hospitals, and resorts. She is a member of various NFPA code committees including 72, 101 and 1140. Her passion for Fire Protection Engineering has fueled a successful career as well as presented opportunities for volunteer positions in the industry.
